Integrated Water Treatment

Membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI) forms the core of our technology platform. Depending on salinity levels and contaminant profiles, additional technologies such as closed-circuit reverse osmosis (CCRO), membrane bioreactor (MBR), and ultrafiltration (UF) are integrated to build a complete, application-specific solution. This structured approach ensures that technology selection is driven by engineering requirements — not by product limitation.
Using membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI) with optional closed‑circuit reverse osmosis (CCRO), our decentralized desalination systems reach up to 95% water recovery, 40% energy savings and over 50% brine reduction.
Membrane Capacitive Deionization (MCDI)
MCDI+ - the central element of DION+ Desalination systems - enables energy-efficient desalination and selective ion removal, particularly for low to moderate salinity water streams. MCDI acts as the precision adjustment module within the overall treatment train.
Closed-Circuit Reverse Osmosis (CCRO)
For applications involving elevated salinity levels, CCRO provides efficient bulk desalination. Its closed-circuit configuration allows improved recovery rates and optimized energy control compared to conventional reverse osmosis systems. In DION+ systems, CCRO is typically deployed for high TDS feed water or as a pre-desalination stage before MCDI.
Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)
MBR combines biological degradation with membrane filtration to remove organic matter and suspended solids from wastewater streams. When integrated with MCDI, MBR provides organic load reduction while MCDI removes dissolved ion composition.
Ultrafiltration (UF)
Ultrafiltration provides reliable removal of suspended solids, pathogens, and turbidity. By stabilizing feed water quality, UF pre-treatment enhances overall system reliability and performance.
